Ash Nature

ASH NATURE

2019 has been designated by the government as the “Year of Green Action”.
Work is underway to gather information on biodiversity in Ash to help in conserving what we have for future generations.
…….but you can get involved. We need to map wildlife in the Parish and the more people helping, the better information we’ll get.
You can get involved by signing up to iNaturalist, a way of using your mobile phone to take pictures of wildlife that saves records to a database that everyone can share:
iNaturalist user guide
The app, once downloaded on your phone, allows you to add wildlife observations that you make wherever you can: in green spaces, gardens and on public footpaths. Once you have signed up all you need to do is get out there explore, discover and share! The sightings will then be added to a map and they will be compared with other people’s sightings. You can get suggestions on identifying your wildlife sightings (log any kind of wildlife, animal, plant or fungus, common or rare!) We want to put Ash on the map and celebrate the wildlife in our area.
