CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN ASH

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – You can make a difference!

Help look after your village!
Hopefully you will be aware of the work of various volunteers in keeping footpaths open, planting flowers, watering planters, looking after the wood, litter picking and a variety of other tasks.  If you are, then I’m sure you’ll agree that they help make the environment of Ash more attractive for all.
More volunteers are needed to help keep this effort going and to make sure improvements are sustained.  A few examples of what you could do to contribute include:

ASH PAVILION CARETAKER/MANAGER
Ash Parish Council is seeking help with the management of Ash Pavilion with:-
Bookings and the security system
Regular cleaning
Minor maintenance
Monitoring general state of the building
Reporting major maintenance requirements for council to action
These roles could be undertaken by one person or could be split between two or three. If you could help with any of these tasks and would like further information or wish to register your interest, please contact Cllr Henry Guy, or by email henry.guy@ashpcsomerset.com

INTERESTED IN NATURE?  ENJOY THE COUNTRYSIDE?  LIKE TREES?

ASH BIODIVERSITY SURVEY.
Did you take part in the annual RSPB “Big Garden Birdwatch” or the GWCT “Big Farmland Birdwatch” this January? If so, please send your results to mickwooden90@hotmail.com so that they can be added to the Biodiversity survey.  Would you like to help compile the survey then contact Mick Wooden  mickwooden90@hotmail.com and find out what’s involved.

SPEED WATCH.
For the scheme to be an ongoing success we need more volunteers.  I am asking for at least 6 volunteers who will commit to 2 hours each month.  If I have enough people then I can arrange re/training and we can restart the scheme.
If you would like to get involved or have any questions please contact Antoinette Groves 01935 825020 antoinette.groves@ashpcsomerset.com

ASH IN BLOOM
New volunteers are always welcome, whatever your age and whether you have lived here all your life or only recently moved in. Please get in touch if you would like to join our group, give us feedback or if you have ideas or suggestions as to how we might improve on what we did last year. We would love your help to water planters during the summer months. If you have an AIB planter outside your house why not volunteer to keep it watered for us.  If you would like to help or have any questions please contact Antoinette Groves ashinbloom123@gmail.com

ASH MILLENNIUM WOOD
