ASH IN BLOOM
Ash in Bloom is a volunteer group that was set up in 2017 with the aim of bringing our community together in a collective effort to maintain and improve the appearance of our village. In our first year and second year we entered the annual South West in Bloom competition, part of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom campaign judged every summer in 18 separate regions throughout the UK. Ash in Bloom was awarded a Silver Gilt Award in the small village category in both years.
Ash in Bloom is about far more than floral displays around the village. We aim to involve as many other village groups, clubs, the school and church in the work we do. It’s about gardening, litter picking, recycling, wildlife, and much more. Take a look at the Ash in Bloom Portfolios below to get a better understanding of what we are about.
New volunteers are always welcome, whatever your age and whether you have lived here all your life or only recently moved in. Please get in touch if you would like to join our group, give us feedback or if you have ideas or suggestions as to how we might improve on what we did last year.
