ASH REMEMBERS 100 YEARS ON

In 2018, to mark the centenary of the ending of the First World War, Ash resident Derek Groves put together a tribute to honour the memory of the men from Ash who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country in both World Wars. The tribute was put on display in Holy Trinity Church around the time of the Remembrance Day Service on 11th November 2018.  It also told how in 1919 the people of Ash decided to add a bell tower to their church as a unique and lasting war memorial and thanksgiving for peace.

Derek has now put the tribute together in an illustrated booklet that as a result of further research contains even more material.  It also describes how the people of Ash came together in 2018 to remember those events and people from 100 years ago.
